Our winters are mild enough that a modern inverter heat pump keeps full capacity through almost every night of the year, and our summers mean you're buying a top-tier air conditioner anyway — the heating side comes nearly free in the same box. For all-electric homes in the valley, replacing resistance strip heat with a heat pump typically cuts winter heating energy by half or more.

Do heat pumps actually work when it's 28° outside?
The inverter units we install hold full rated capacity to around 5°F — far colder than Las Vegas ever gets. On a typical 30° December night in the valley, a properly sized heat pump isn't straining; it's loafing. The 'heat pumps quit in the cold' reputation comes from 1990s single-stage units, not current equipment.
Is a heat pump cheaper to run than my gas furnace?
For all-electric homes, yes, dramatically — often 50%+ savings over strip heat. Against a working gas furnace it's closer, and it depends on current Southwest Gas versus NV Energy rates. We run your numbers both ways and show you. If gas wins for your house, we'll say so.
My furnace smells like burning when it first kicks on. Bad?
The first burn of the season — that dusty smell for an hour — is normal. A burning smell that persists, or any electrical or plastic odor, is not: shut it down and call. The distinction matters and we'd rather take the call than have you guess.
